Hunting Information

Hunting safaris are conducted from April to October, our dry winter months. Moderate temperatures make this an unforgettable experience.

Any species not found on the game farm are available within a short drive from the lodge. This is why we can offer an extensive specie list for our discerning hunters. All hunting safaris are tailored to the hunters needs.

We do our best to offer you a professional and very personal service. Licensed professional hunters will accompany you every step of the way to guide and provide you with their knowledge gathered through many years of experience.

When arriving at camp your Professional Hunter will assist you at sighting your rifle for the hunt at our 100 to 200 yards shooting range. Please study shot placements on the animals you are planning on hunting as it is different from the animals in the USA. Please note that no alcohol may be used before or while hunting.

Any evidence of an animal being hit whether it be, stomach contents, blood, hair (fur), horn fragments, or any other evidence will be sufficient to declare a wounded animal and will be charged at full price.

Any caliber from a .270 up to .375 are good all-rounders for hunting plainsgame and a minimum of .375 caliber for hunting dangerous game. Bring a good quality scope on your hunt. Our recommendation will be a 3x9 power.

We suggest that you bring the rifle or rifles that you are most comfortable with. A maximum of 60 rounds per gun is allowed. Pack weapons in hard cases for protection while traveling and keep ammunition separate but also bring a soft case and ammunition belt for during the hunt.

Pack ammunition separately from the rifle, in a box that can lock but be easily accessible as you have to show this to the police when clearing your rifle.

Check with your airline what their requirements are.

Hiring of rifle and ammunition $50 per hunting day!

Hunting and Tourism is a service industry, tipping is customary to these industries. It may be confusing because there are a variety of staff that work hard to make your safari a positive experience. You should not feel pressured to leave a specific amount. Tips should reflect the quality of service that you have received during your safari or tour. Recommended gratuities are for your Professional Hunter (PH), chef, skinner and tracker.
